A karshen shekara ta 2018 ne Shugaban Najeriya, Muhammadu Buhari, ya bayyana ranar 12 ga watan Yuni a matsayin ranar Demokradiyya da tunawa da soke zaben da aka yi a ranar 12 ga Yuni na shekarar 1993.
Shugaba Buhari ya ce gwamnatinsa ta amince ta dawo da wannan ranar ta zama ta demokradiyya a maimakon ranar 29 ga watan Mayu ta ko wace shekara, domin karrama marigayi Chief Mashood Abiola (MKO) wanda ya sadaukar da ransa don tabbatar da demokradiyya a kasar.
Gwamantin mulkin soja ta wancan lokacin a karkashin Janar Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, ta bayyana soke zaben da aka yi wanda aka tabbatar Chief Abiola shine ya kama hanayar lashewa.
A jawabinsa a wancan lokacin, Chief Abiola ya bayyana cewa shine ya lashe zaben, wanda ‘yan Najeriya suka yi ba tare da la’akari da yanki ko addini ba, don haka ya kamata a rantsar da shi a matsayin sabon shugaban kasa.
Shugabanni da jagorori a Najeriya da suka hada da shugaban Majalisar Dattawa da gwamnoni, musamman wadanda suka fito daga yankin kudu maso yammacin kasar sun dade suna gudanar da wannan biki a ranar 12 ga watan Yuni na ko wace shekara, kana sun yaba da matakin da gwamnatin kasar ta dauka.
Wasu mazauna yankin na kudu maso yammacin Najeriya, sun bayyana wa Muryar Amurka jin dadin su kana sun ce wannan wani abin alfahari ne da zai taimaka wajan hada kan kasar.
A wani jawabi da daya daga cikin ‘yayan marigayin, Dr. Hafsat Abiola Constantillo ta taba yi, ta ce sun yaba da wannan mataki na shugaban kasa, kuma suna fatan wannan zai kawo karshen kace-na-ce na wannan zabe.
To sai dai bikin wanda aka so yin babban shagali, hakan bai samu ba a bana saboda matakan da gwamanti ta ke dauka don dakile yaduwar annobar cutar COVID-19, dan haka shugabanni musamman a jihar Lagos suka gudanar da tarukan tattaunawa a kafofin sadawar na zamani da gidajen talabijin da rediyo, inda masana da masu fashin baki ke tattaunawa a kan zaben na ranar 12 ga watan Yuni da kuma ranar Demokradiyya a Najeriya.
